Travcoa Private Journeys in a Diverse Land

Ecuador provides great diversity in experiencing the Latin American culture all in one destination.  While the Galápagos Islands are primarily a draw for luxury travelers, there are other regions on the mainland that are just as captivating.

If the Galápagos figure into your dream vacation, Travcoa offers two different programs on the islands.  On Darwin’s Galápagos, you will spend a couple days in Quito, exploring this capital city before heading to Galápagos Islands to embark on a luxury cruise aboard Princess Grace Kelly’s former royal honeymoon yacht. This journey allows you to experience an in-depth view of the unique flora and fauna of a relatively untouched land.

If cruising isn’t what you desire, Travcoa also offers a Galápagos & Andes Safari which features a stay at the Galápagos Safari Camp, which offers luxury tented accommodations and day excursions, including a private experience with local fisherman to areas that large cruise ships are unable to navigate. Upon your return to the mainland, you’ll visit Hacienda Zuleta, a working dairy farm in Northern Ecuador.  It’s here that you’ll be able to learn what is involved in cheese production, tour a condor rehabilitation center, and spend time in the non-profit workshop to observe the beautiful embroidery made here.

For a more diverse experience in Ecuador, you can spend time in two other regions: the Highlands and the Amazon.  On Avenue of the Volcanoes, you’ll visit an art workshop and meet renowned painter Oswaldo Viteri, walk amid the cloud forest keeping an eye out for pumas, then visit Indian markets and ruins in Cuenca. A highlight is traveling the switchbacks of “devil’s nose” via train.

If you’ve wanted to experience the Amazon and cherish authentic experiences, Ecuador’s Amazon Exploration offers just this. After departing Quito and flying to Coca, you’ll be canoed to the Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge located in one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems on the planet. You’ll then head to Napo Wildlife Center for 3 nights in a suite, exploring the rainforest and learning the ancient traditions of the Kichwa community.

These programs are short enough to combine together, and with great connections on LAN airlines, Ecuador is an easy destination to visit from anywhere in the US.
